Let’s Talk About It: Living with Grief & Trauma

May 9 @ 11:00 am 12:00 pm CDT

A Conversation on Grief and Healing

Our Let’s Talk About It events serve as the peer support complement to each month’s educational EmpowerEd seminar. This month, we invite you to join a supportive conversation following the EmpowerEd: Living with Grief & Trauma session with Dr. Chantel Dooley from TAPS.

This event will be hosted by our own VSN Training Manager and surviving spouse, Ashley Craig. Ashley will hold space for participants to reflect on the EmpowerEd session, share personal insights, and discuss how grief and trauma show up in their lives, families, and communities. Together, we’ll explore practical tools, resources, and ways to foster healing and connection.

Learning Objectives

  • Reflect on the experience of grief and trauma within military and veteran families.
  • Share and hear lived experiences in a supportive space.
  • Identify trauma-informed strategies and resources that promote healing.

Complementary Peer Support Event

A peer support session will be offered to provide a space for attendees to reflect on the webinar, share experiences, and discuss ways to support those living with grief and trauma. Participation in the EmpowerEd session is encouraged but not required.
