PTSD & Relationships
June 18, 2022 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm CDT

June is PTSD Awareness Month, and despite how prevalent post-traumatic stress is in our military and veteran communities (and the larger public), and how many strides we've seen in the reduction of mental health stigma in the military and American culture, it is still pervasive. If your SM or veteran is battling PTSD, or PTSD symptoms(whether diagnosed or not), we know the toll that can take on family and intimate relationships.
As those who love and care for them, we want to be patient, understanding, and supportive; many of us understand that this is something bigger than our loved one, but that doesn't mean it's easy to understand, or that the impacts aren't felt. Join us for this chat to discuss how PTSD is impacting your relationship, hear from other spouses, partners, and family members navigating this condition in their families, and learn some strategies to help manage its impact on your relationships.
You are not alone, and the reality is that PTSD is more complex and bigger than any of us. It's a challenge for our loved ones, it's a challenge for us, and it's a challenge for our families, but together, we can support one another in finding ways to minimize its impact and forge a path forward. Join VSN Leader and staff member, Ashley to connect and receive support.
To be eligible for this group you must be the spouse, partner, or family member of an active duty service member or post-service veteran who is experiencing symptoms of PTSD.
