MHFA helps you build the confidence to step in when someone may be struggling. Scenarios and exercises make the learning practical\, so you leave ready to help in real-life situations. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout Conversations on Access to Lethal Means (CALM Conversations)\n\n\n\nCALM Conversations offers practical tools for discussing safe storage of lethal means\, like firearms or medications\, during a suicidal crisis. This course empowers everyday people to have respectful\, life-saving conversations that can reduce the risk of suicide by putting time and space between a person in crisis and lethal means. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat You'll Gain\n\n\n\n\nPractical skills to recognize and respond to mental health or substance use challenges in adults\n\n\n\nTools for tough conversations around suicide risk and lethal means\n\n\n\nStrategies that save lives by reducing access to lethal means during times of crisis\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCertifications & CEUs\n\n\n\nUpon completion\, this session qualifies for continuing education units (CEUs) and professional certifications: \n\n\n\n\nMental Health First Aid (MHFA): 3-year certification | 7.5 CEUs\n\n\n\nCounseling on Access to Lethal Means (CALM): 1-year certification | 1.5 CEUs\n\n\n\n\nTo request your certificate and a CEU submission form for state certification\, please email us after attending the training. \n\n\n\nPlease note: This training includes 2 hours of required self-paced pre-course work prior to the live session. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis Event is Open To\n\n\n\nThis event is open to individuals nationwide. SUMMARY:Finding Purpose in Times of Transition
DESCRIPTION:Virtual\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nTools for Emotional Regulation\, Relational Awareness\, and Meaning-Making\n\n\n\nIn times of transition\, many experience disorientation\, emotional intensity\, and a loss of clarity around purpose. This session introduces a practical\, human-centered approach to navigating change. By integrating emotional regulation\, relational awareness\, and meaning-making\, participants will explore how their internal states\, relationships\, and interpretations shape their ability to move through uncertainty with intention. \n\n\n\nGrounded in the BELLA*Life framework\, this experience emphasizes restoring connection—to self\, others\, and purpose—rather than simply “coping” or pushing through. You’ll leave with actionable tools to regulate emotions\, reinterpret challenges\, and align your actions with deeper values\, transforming transition into a space for growth\, clarity\, and contribution. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nAbout the Speaker\n\n\n\nDr. Chris Casely\, MBA\, PhD is the founder of BELLA*Life and the Center for Human Attachment & Performance (CHAP). His work integrates attachment theory\, affective neuroscience\, symbolic interactionism\, and embodied practices such as yoga and dance to create accessible tools for human development\, leadership\, and relational repair. With a background in nonprofit leadership\, education\, and applied research\, Dr. Casely specializes in helping individuals and organizations build emotional regulation\, trust\, and meaning-driven performance in complex environments. \n\n\n\nBELLA*Life is an educational and developmental ecosystem designed to help people regulate\, connect\, and create meaningful outcomes in their personal and professional lives. Through courses\, assessments\, research\, and community-based experiences\, BELLA*Life translates interdisciplinary science into practical tools for everyday growth and leadership. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhat You'll Gain\n\n\n\n\nUnderstand how emotional and physiological states influence perception\, decision-making\, and purpose during transition\n\n\n\nLearn practical BELLA*Life tools for emotional regulation\, repair\, and meaning-making during uncertain or disruptive experiences\n\n\n\nApply a structured process to reconnect with your values and define purpose-aligned next steps\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis Event is Open To\n\n\n\nThis event is open to all members of the military and veteran-connected community.
