-Sue is the daughter of a World War II, Marine and Iwo Jima survivor. Sue and her partner, 38 year retired Marine, co-founded a non-profit during the beginning of COVID that provided a safe social outlet and well as a way to connect to resources when so many other outlets were shut down.
As a daughter and partner of combat Marines, Sue has seen first hand the invisible wounds and silent struggles that can derail a veteran and those around them. Military families wear many hats and are often surrounded by a civilian community that does not after understand.
As a former teacher, Sue brings to the table a relational approach that starts with listening, and then utilizes education and empowerment. When we can acknowledge the importance of self-care and are willing to be intentional about seeking and accepting support we find hope. The approach is like finding a connection with a daughter, sister, cousin, aunt or friend. You are not alone. We are in this together.
