Tanya Mac

Tanya Mac is a veteran spouse and mother based in the Dallas, Texas area who understands the realities of military family life through lived experience. She was married to a Marine for over a decade and navigated the challenges that often come with service, including trauma, transition, and divorce. Today, she co-parents her preteen alongside her veteran former spouse, maintaining a strong and respectful partnership built on communication and shared commitment. She remains actively connected to the military community through ongoing involvement in veteran and active-duty support efforts.

As a Peer Leader with the Veteran Spouse Network, Tanya brings both personal insight and leadership experience to her work. She has contributed to veteran-focused nonprofit efforts through leadership and program development, and she understands how to build meaningful, supportive spaces for others. Her approach is grounded, direct, and practical—focused on helping individuals develop tools they can use to manage stress, navigate challenges, and move forward with intention.

Tanya’s motivation is rooted in her own journey through adversity and growth. She knows the weight of carrying stress and uncertainty, and she is committed to helping others find stability in ways that feel realistic and sustainable. She encourages honest conversation, self-awareness, and creative expression as powerful tools for healing and personal development.

Professionally, Tanya works in the mental health field as a trainer in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA), ASIST, and trauma-informed practices, and she is a certified peer support specialist. She integrates creative, art-based strategies into her work to support emotional regulation and resilience. As a mother, artist, and advocate, she brings clarity, experience, and a steady presence—meeting people where they are and helping them build a path forward that works for their life.
