Ashley Ware

Ashley Ware lives in Houston, Texas, where she proudly supports her husband, a Marine combat veteran who served during the post-9/11 era. Ashley met her husband after his time in service, and together they are now embracing life as new parents to their newborn son. As a veteran spouse, she brings deep empathy and understanding to the challenges that come with military life and the transition that follows.

For the past three years, Ashley has served as a Peer Leader with the Veteran Spouse Network. She has led resiliency groups, wellness series, and specializes in one-on-one support. Drawing from her own lived experiences, she provides compassionate, informed support to those navigating PTSD, traumatic brain injuries (TBIs), moral injury, and other mental health challenges. Her approach centers on creating safe, judgment-free spaces where peers feel seen and understood.

Ashley became involved with the VSN because it offered her a genuine sense of belonging, connection, and community. She hopes others find the same sense of hope and strength through their own journeys—feeling that their emotions are heard, validated, and encouraged. In her free time, Ashley enjoys reading, writing, traveling when able, spending time with friends, and soaking in every moment of being a new mom.

Ashley’s experience as both a veteran spouse and a peer leader allows her to connect with participants in a meaningful way. She understands the unique challenges military families face and uses that insight to foster trust, empathy, and resilience within her groups. Her combination of personal experience, warmth, and dedication helps participants feel empowered to share their stories, build coping skills, and find renewed confidence in their own paths forward.
