Cassandra Salas is a passionate, self-employed veteran spouse living in El Paso, Texas, with a deep connection to the military community. Having experienced both active duty and retired military life alongside her family, Cassandra understands the unique challenges and resilience that military families navigate. She is a proud spouse of a 100% disabled Army veteran, a joyful mother of two grown children, and a happily exhausted grandmother of three, with many years of supporting others through life's transitions.
As a Peer Leader with VSN, Cassandra has been sharing her lived experience for more than five years, leading support groups and programs that foster connection, understanding, and hope. She has found great fulfillment in facilitating peer-led social groups that serve as healing spaces—where individuals can share, support one another, and discover renewed strength.
Cassandra’s motivation for being part of VSN comes from her desire to create a welcoming environment where military families feel seen, heard, and empowered. Outside of her work, she finds joy in activities like reading, crocheting, meditating, gardening, crafting, and spending time with family and animals—things that help her stay grounded and connected.
Her background in Lifestyle, Health, and Wellness Coaching, Community Health Education, and alternative medicine approaches enriches her ongoing pursuit of a master’s in Marriage and Family Counseling, further strengthening her ability to support others with optimism and resilience. Her personal journey and professional background come together in her work—helping others embrace life’s waves with hope and strength. Cassandra’s mission is to remind fellow military families that they are not alone, and that resilience and renewal are always within reach, even amidst life’s ups and downs.
