Gretchen Davis

Gretchen Davis is a proud veteran spouse and deeply rooted member of a multi-generational military family. Based in Fort Worth, Texas, she brings lived experience from nearly every branch and era of service—WWI, WWII, Gulf War, and Post-9/11—through her roles as great-granddaughter of WWI veterans, granddaughter of WWII veterans, daughter of a U.S. Air Force veteran, spouse of an Army veteran, and mother of two active-duty soldiers. Gretchen and her husband navigated military life together from enlistment through a medical board transition in 2014 to raising three children across PCS moves, deployments, and the everyday joys and challenges of service. Today, their grown children still call often—because they want to, not just when they need something.

Since 2020, Gretchen has served as a Peer Leader with the Veteran Spouse Network, offering steady support and connection to fellow spouses and caregivers. She’s facilitated weekly peer-support groups for nearly six years and has participated in nearly every VSN offering, including resiliency groups, suicide prevention trainings, and one-on-one support programs. Her lived experience spans PTSD, TBI, moral injury, mental health, suicidality, substance misuse, parenting, and caregiving—making her a compassionate and relatable presence in every group she leads.

Gretchen’s “why” is simple and powerful: when her family was struggling through transition, the Veteran Spouse Network wasn’t yet what it is today. She’s committed to ensuring no one walks that road alone. She hopes that participants find camaraderie, courage, and clarity through VSN—along with the kind of support that makes hard days feel a little lighter. Outside of VSN, Gretchen loves baking, reading, and spending time with her husband and their lively menagerie of animals.

While Gretchen is professionally trained in Marriage and Family Therapy, her role at VSN is first and foremost as a peer, creating a space for our participants. Her background as an LMFT-Associate in Texas, with training in couples therapy, family systems, and trauma-informed care, enhances her ability to help others communicate their needs, set boundaries, and build healthier relationships—always with warmth, humility, and respect.
