San Antonio, TX – Latashia is the spouse of a retired Air Force veteran that served 24 years and is a peer leader for the Veteran Spouse Resiliency Group. Most of their Military career was served in San Antonio, with her husband retiring out of Randolph Air Force Base. Latashia and her spouse grew up as “Military Brats”. Both her father and father-in-law retired Army out of Fort Hood Texas serving over 20 years. Latashia is a Senior Budget Analyst currently working as a government contractor for the Defense Health Agency. Growing up within a military family, raising their own military family, and working alongside military members has given her an opportunity to experience multiple sides of the military cultural lifestyle. After attending her first VSRG support group, sharing her story and military experiences alongside other veteran spouses that also contributed their stories, backgrounds, and testimonies, made Latashia realize that they all carry the same badge of honor of being a veteran spouse. Many different experiences and some very similar, but all need the same type of support that VSRG has to offer. Latashia is very grateful to have been given the opportunity to become a peer leader to give continued support back to other veteran spouses and to continue her journey of teaching and sharing with others how we can all positively grow through our testimonies of life.
