Lauren Aguon

Lauren Aguon is the proud spouse of a Post-9/11 Navy veteran and currently lives in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and their two children. Having met her husband while he was on active duty and journeyed alongside him through the transition to civilian life, Lauren understands the unique challenges that military and veteran families often face. Her personal experience fuels her passion for helping others navigate similar paths with support and connection.

For the past three years, Lauren has served as a dedicated Peer Leader with the Veteran Spouse Network (VSN). In this role, she has led support groups focused on resilience, mental health, and navigating post-service life, while also offering compassionate one-on-one peer support. She brings a deep understanding of the emotional complexities many veterans and their families experience—including PTSD, depression, and suicidal ideation—and approaches each interaction with empathy, respect, and care.

Lauren’s commitment to peer support is grounded in her own journey through the loss of the military community and the isolation that often comes with it. Finding VSN gave her a renewed sense of connection and purpose—and now, she’s passionate about offering that same sense of belonging to others. Outside of her work, Lauren enjoys hiking, running, yoga, and spending time with her family—including their two beloved rescue dogs.

Professionally, Lauren holds dual Master’s degrees in Social Work and Historic Preservation and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Integral-Transpersonal Psychology. She also holds a range of holistic certifications and has worked extensively with military members and couples in therapeutic settings. While her credentials enrich her perspective, Lauren firmly believes that the most powerful support comes peer-to-peer. Her focus at VSN is to create a safe, welcoming space where others can connect authentically, grow together, and find hope.
