Sara Howell lives in Conroe, TX with her husband of 8 years who served in the Marines. Her husband and her met post-service and shortly after they were married they discovered he had some undiagnosed PTSD that needed to be dealt with. She encouraged him to seek out help, he was agreeable and over time this was an issue that he was able to get control over. This took a good bit of understanding from both parties and a willingness to give each other grace when situations did arise. Her husband saw that there was hope for this situation and with that he was willing to keep pursuing his goals.
Sara strives to be helpful to those around her, especially those that have served our country. A strong sense of community is something that is important to her and this has shaped her career paths and groups that she is interested in. Sara has a history of working in the medical field and also as an educator. Both of these things have been pivotal to the work she does with the suicide prevention team and co-instructing Mental Health First Aid classes.
