Spring, TX – Hi! I’m Lucy Collins, I am a native Houstonian born and raised, but I have currently been residing in Spring, TX, for the past ten years. I have been married to my husband Derrick, a US Army Veteran, for 11 years. We have a 10-year-old son named Elijah. I have also been a licensed Occupational Therapy healthcare practitioner for the past 14 years. I currently hold a B.S. in Health Information Management, an Occupational Therapy license in Texas and Florida, a certification as a Registered Health Information Administrator, and a certification as a Clinical Documentation Integrity practitioner. I am currently pursuing my Master’s in Healthcare Informatics with the goal of ensuring that every Veteran, Veteran Spouse, and military family understands the imperativeness of a Healthcare Record. I have worked in various healthcare settings, including acute care, long-term acute care, pediatric long-term acute care, skilled nursing facilities, and geriatric/pediatric home health. Mental Health is the foundation of Occupational therapy, for which I am a huge advocate. I am very passionate about supporting Mental Health in the Veteran Community for both Veterans and spouses.
