EmpowerEd: A Macro look at Military & Veteran Spouse Employment Issues

The Veteran Spouse Network is excited to welcome guest speaker, Cynthia A. Lendof. Cynthia serves as the Assistant State Director of Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS )for the Department of Labor. We have all heard the statistics that spousal employment issues are not only a problem for military marriages, but also for military retention of service members. Many military spouses have gaps in their careers nor are they able to build a retirement financial package due to frequent moves and job changes. This talk will address the cultural limitations and employment barriers still faced by military and veteran spouses today.
To be eligible for this group you must be the spouse, partner, or family member of a post-service veteran or active duty service member. This chat is also open to anyone divorced or widowed from a service member or veteran. Finally, this chat is open to veterans and active duty service members.
