Healing through Art: Integrated Self-Help Techniques

July 11 @ 12:00 pm 2:00 pm CDT

Art isn’t just creative—it’s connective. When words fall short, it becomes a powerful bridge between emotion and expression. Trauma impacts the brain, body, and spirit, and in those moments when words fall short, art can be a powerful tool for healing. This session explores how creative expression can be a meaningful part of an integrative healing journey.

Led by VSN Peer Leader and certified First Aid Arts facilitator, Tanya Mac, this interactive session offers hands-on, arts-based techniques to support your personal growth and resilience. You’ll learn how trauma shows up in the body, how the arts can help, and leave with simple, meaningful tools to respond to stress—no art experience required.

What You’ll Gain

  • Insight into how trauma impacts the body and how creativity can help
  • Practical, art-based tools to manage stress and support emotional healing
  • A welcoming space to reflect, create, and connect through guided expression
