Let’s Talk About It: Encouraging Support & Care

Let's combat the stigma surrounding mental health and counseling services. It can be a challenge to see a veteran or service member in your life suffering from a mental illness. Or maybe you believe counseling might be beneficial. Maybe you are asking yourself, how do you start the conversation? How do I encourage sticking it out once he/she is receiving care?
Let's Talk About It events serve as a complement peer-support discussion to our educational EmpowerEd content. VSN peer leader, Stephanie Smart, will go over some of the material presented in the educational EmpowerEd: Coaching into Care on Thursday, Dec 14, 2023 at 12 pm CT. She will also give space for participants to discuss supporting their veterans or service members through mental health counseling services with the VA or through other resources. It is not required that you attend the EmpowerEd: Coaching into Care, but it is recommended. Register HERE
To be eligible for this group you must be the spouse or partner of an active duty service member or post-service veteran, a caregiver or divorced spouse from a veteran or active duty service member, or an active duty service member or veteran.
