Our Stories: Moral Injury
August 23 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm CDT

A moral injury can leave what many refer to as a “soul wound,” and navigating healing from a moral injury is a deeply personal journey that can be layered and complex. Similarly, supporting a loved one in their recovery can be very challenging. Join VSN peer leader, Sue Watson on Wednesday, August 23rd at 7 pm CT to join together with others who are living with a moral injury or who love someone living with a moral injury to share your experiences and receive support.
This event is intended to be a peer support complement to the educational EmpowerEd Moral Injury 101 event with Dr. Hawkins the day prior to this event. You can register for that event HERE. You do not have to attend Dr. Hawkins' talk in order to attend this event, however, it is encouraged. Through this peer discussion, we want to provide an additional opportunity for those that want to share their own experiences with moral injury and discuss lessons learned from the EmpowerEd presentation. Please register for both the EmpowerEd event and this peer support event separately.
Peer support means organic conversations, a safe place, shared experiences, a network, and active listening. There is both healing and empowerment in sharing. Let’s talk about what we learned, or maybe you feel more comfortable listening. Let’s share our experiences dealing with moral injury and learn from each other.
