PTSD Pathways to Healing

Support, connection, and clarity for military families living with PTSD
Living with or caring for someone with PTSD can feel overwhelming, isolating, and full of unknowns. But healing is possible, and you’re not alone. In honor of PTSD Awareness Month, Ava Weiss, LCSW from Cohen Veterans Network will share expert insights and practical tools to help you reduce PTSD’s impact on your relationships and reconnect with yourself.
We’ll break down the science of PTSD, explore strategies rooted in evidence-based care, and create space for reflection, support, and empowerment. Whether this is your first step or part of an ongoing journey, this session is here to help.
What You’ll Gain
- A clearer understanding of the science of PTSD and how it affects relationships
- Practical tools to support healing, boundaries, and connection
- Guidance on helping your loved one without losing yourself
About the Speaker
Ava Weiss, LCSW, is the Senior Training Manager at Cohen Veterans Network (CVN), where she leads the planning and implementation of the network’s clinical training program. She designs practical, responsive learning opportunities for diverse clinical teams and collaborates closely with both trainers and trainees to enhance practice across a wide range of topics. As both a clinician and trainer, Ava brings an ecological, person-centered approach, balancing nuance with hands-on application. Her areas of focus include the assessment and evidence-based treatment of PTSD, suicide prevention, EBP implementation, culturally responsive care, and military culture.
Cohen Veterans Network (CVN) is a national not-for-profit network of mental health clinics serving post-9/11 veterans, service members, and their families. CVN provides care for a range of challenges, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, grief, adjustment issues, anger, relationship and family concerns, military transition, and children’s behavioral problems. Services are available to all post-9/11 veterans—including Reserves and National Guard—regardless of discharge status, role, or combat experience; active duty service members with a TRICARE referral; and the entire military family, including spouses or partners, children, siblings, parents, caregivers, and others.
