V-SRG Invisible Wounds of War & Suicide Prevention

July 31 @ 6:00 pm 8:00 pm CDT

The Invisible Wounds of War are all too real in our military and veteran families, and it can be hard for those outside of this community to understand just how much they impact individuals, relationships and families. Join your fellow military and veteran spouses/partners to discuss how trauma can impact an individual, whether that be a service member, veteran, spouse, partner, or anyone in your life.

This session comes from our Veteran Spouse Resiliency Group curriculum and will lead participants through a discussion of the particular types of trauma one can experience while serving in the military, and that can impact both their partner and family. Additionally, this session explores suicidality and equips participants with a tool to engage in a conversation with someone who may be experiencing suicidal thoughts and behaviors. This session is about building our toolkit – equipping ourselves with information and tools to address trauma, both individually, and with those we care for.

Note: To be eligible for this group you must be a spouse or committed partner of a post-service veteran, or active duty service member. If you have been a past participant in the V-SRG program, you are still eligible to join any of these sessions.
