Let’s Talk About It: The Power of Sleep
October 24 @ 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm CDT
Sleep is good medicine for our mind, body & spirit but can be all too elusive. Discuss sleep challenges and strategies with peers!
When you are losing sleep or when you are impacted by a loved one losing sleep, it can be felt by the entire family. For the EmpowerEd session this month, we welcome Dr. Troxel, a premiere sleep specialist, who will discuss the importance of sleep and the prevalence of insomnia within the military and veteran community and how this can impact the spouse and family too. For the Let's Talk About It, follow-up session, we are excited to welcome, VSN Peer Leader, Cassandra Salas, who will host this session to dive into key points from Dr. Troxel's presentation and allow a space for participants to share their personal experiences and lessons learned when dealing with insomnia.
You do not have to attend the educational EmpowerEd seminar, on Oct 23rd at 12 pm CT but it is recommended. Register HERE.
Eligibility: Let's Talk About It sessions are open to the wider military-affiliated community, and this series is offered monthly, free of charge through the Veteran Spouse Network.
Encouraged participants include the spouse or partner of an active-duty service member or post-service veteran, a caregiver or divorced spouse of a veteran or active-duty service member, or an active-duty service member or veteran.
Eligibility varies by session, so please check our Eventbrite page to see other social clubs that may interest you.
