Taking Steps in Prevention
September 18 @ 9:00 am – 10:00 am CDT
September is Suicide Prevention Month, a time to unite in support of those affected by suicide. It's easy to become desensitized to the statistics, but the Veteran Support Network (VSN) wants to change that. Our community wants to normalize the conversation about mental health and prevention steps involving the ENTIRE family. The VSN recognizes that the mental health of caregivers and family members may also be impacted by military service. Often, it's the family members, friends, and caregivers who are the first to identify warning signs and support a veteran struggling with thoughts of suicide. You are not alone!
Join us at the VSN as we organize a virtual walk to bring people together from across the country. Let's make it the largest virtual military and veteran family walk to raise awareness and help prevent suicide.
Choose your favorite hiking path, slip on your kicks, put on your Bluetooth gadget, and join us for a virtual walk!
Let's take STEPS Together!
S – share warning signs with friends and family members
T – talk about mental health
E – explore local resources
P – practice self-care
S – support begins with YOU!
