The Warrior Within: Boundaries Workshop

October 2 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm CDT
We are social creatures, drawn to building community, but that does not mean relationships are easy or that everyone brings the same values, or level of care and respect to each relationship. Do you ever feel like people take advantage of ‘your good nature’ too often? Are you exhausted most of the time because you feel like you have to say ‘yes’ to everything and everyone? Do you find yourself being resentful in certain relationships and situations?
If any of that resonates with you, then this is the workshop for you! Come and learn the ins and outs of setting boundaries. We all need them, but most of us never learned how to put them in place, or most importantly, how to protect them. In this workshop, we will explore where you already have boundaries and where you may need to put some into place. We will learn what to do when the insecurities, triggers, or trauma of a loved one or friend start negatively impacting you, and how to communicate your boundaries in a healthy way to cultivate authentic relationships with your loved ones, co-workers, and community.
A recommended (but not required) companion book for this workshop is The Sugar Jar by Yasmine Cheyenne.
The Warrior Within Boundaries Workshop, led by VSN peer leader Machelle, will meet on Mondays, Oct 2nd, 9th, 16th & 23rd from 7:00-8:30 pm CT. Note that the 23rd is an optional 4th session If the group wishes to extend. Due to the sensitive nature of this chat, it will be a smaller closed group, and we ask that you commit to attending all sessions barring any unforeseen circumstances.
To be eligible for this group you must be the spouse, partner, caregiver, or family member of an active duty service member or post-service veteran. Individuals who are widowed or divorced from an active duty service member or post-service veteran are also eligible for this group.
