My Journey: Spouse Mental Health & Trauma
April 22 @ 7:00 pm – 8:30 pm CDT
Frequently within the military and veteran community, the focus can be on supporting the service member or veteran. But what about the spouse? How is their mental health impacted by all this, or just by life in general? Join VSN peer leaders, Stephanie Smart, Cindy Marcelle, Cassandra Salas, and Andree Long, as they open up and share their journey combatting mental health challenges and overcoming trauma, and the impacts this has had on their relationships with their partners.
Each peer leader will share their personal story dealing with PTSD, secondary trauma, depression, anxiety, and domestic violence, respectively. Ask questions, support each other, and walk away inspired to raise awareness about the issue of military and veteran spouse mental health. Finally, know that you are not alone. The VSN community is here to embrace and support the importance of self-care and your mental health journey always!
To be eligible for this group you must be the spouse or partner of an active-duty service member or post-service veteran, a caregiver, a widow/widower or divorced spouse from a veteran or active duty service member, or an active-duty service member or veteran.
Eligibility varies by session, so please check our Eventbrite page to view other social clubs that may interest you.
